Meet Our Founders

Bob Goodson and Sean Gourley

Bob Goodson, CEO, and Sean Gourley, CTO

Bob Goodson, Quid CEO, and Sean Gourley, Quid CTO, first met at Oxford University. Soon after, Sean finished his Ph.D. in Physics and came to the U.S. Meanwhile, Bob was already established in the San Francisco tech community, where he was the first employee at Yelp.

When formulating their ideas for Quid, they envisioned a company that would apply new algorithms, unconventional data sources, and novel visualizations to create a global intelligence platform. This company would combine Bob’s track record in technology and in building operational strength and stability, with Sean’s experience manipulating large unstructured data sets to reveal unexpected insights, as discussed in his TED talk of February 2009, and his Nature feature story of December 2009.

Now at the 2-year point, Quid is growing rapidly, has raised $14M, and is delivering product to leading tech companies on several continents.

Our Investors

Quid Investors

Dr Charles Lho, Peter Thiel, Niklas Zennström

Quid has been fortunate to have visionary investors who have supported us since our early days, beginning with founding investor Dr Charles Lho, CEO of Amicus Group and formerly of the Samsung Economic Research Institute. Peter Thiel of Founders Fund was another early supporter; having been a founding investor in Facebook, Palantir, and SpaceX, and co-founder of PayPal. Both have continued to invest in Quid later rounds. A more recent investor is Skype co-founder, Niklas Zennström, whose London-based Atomico fund led our current round.
