Bearista

The four most recent Starbucks collectible drinkware collections, each measured from its own launch · Quid Monitor topic 1872495 · 27-month window to Sept 17, 2026
Starbucks ran two collectible collections between the Bearista and Peanuts. Together they drew 323 launch authors — under 10% of what the Bearista drew on its own.
This set splits cleanly in two. The Bearista (3,362 distinct authors in its first 48 hours) and Peanuts (2,245) are mass-market moments. The Pink Bearista (182) and the Dandy Road Trip collection (141) are not — they are roughly 5% and 4% of the Bearista, and their combined launch conversation would not fill a tenth of it. The Pink Bearista is the sharpest lesson in the set: the same character, the same glass format, eight months later, in pink — and 5.4% of the original's launch audience. Peanuts is the first thing Starbucks has put out since November 2025 that reached anything like the same room, and it did so on borrowed intellectual property rather than its own. What Peanuts has not yet shown is endurance: it held 50% of its day-one volume on day two, against the Bearista's 131%.
Chronological, so the sequence Peanuts lands into is visible. Distinct authors lead; post counts are scaled estimates and follow.
The same Bearista character, eight months later, in pink. It drew 182 launch authors against the original's 3,362 — 5.4%. It arrived almost silently: its two peaks are day 2 (Rewards Reserve early access) and day 6 (the glass reaching stores), not launch day. Day-two retention is distorted by a 49-post day one.
A streetwear collaboration with Dandy Worldwide carrying both drinkware and apparel — a Road Trip cold cup, bottles and a lidded cup alongside a hat and sweatshirt. A Seattle pop-up ran the day before the July 28 national launch, which is the spike on day 0.
Three days old. The 48-hour window is closed and final, but day 3 is still filling. Share-in-first-48h is not shown because its era window is 17 days against the Bearista's 61.
Posts per day, each collection aligned to its own launch date. Log scale — every gridline is a tenfold step, so the gap between the tiers is wider than it looks. Three days of Peanuts so far.
The Bearista drew 3,362 distinct authors in 48 hours and then grew — 2,099 posts on day one, 2,753 on day two, 2,207 on day three — and was still running above 700 posts a day a week in. Only 27% of its conversation landed in the opening window. It is also the only drop in this set with real negative volume: 3,249 negative posts against 3,307 positive, for a net of +0.9. That is not a failure of reception so much as a consequence of reach — it is the only collection here that got big enough to annoy anyone. Scarcity, resale and a sold-out backlash produced both the endurance and the hostility.

If the Bearista's pull came from the character, the Pink Bearista should have inherited it. It did not. The Pink Drink collection arrived on July 7 almost silently — 49 posts on its launch day — and drew 182 distinct authors across its first 48 hours against the original Bearista's 3,362. Its two real spikes came from the glass rather than the collection: 287 posts on July 9 when Rewards Reserve members got early access, and 264 on July 13 when it reached stores. Across its whole run it reached 864 authors, against the Bearista's 11,645. Its net sentiment of +95.5 sits on nine negative posts in total — near the ceiling because almost nobody discussed it at all, which is why it is marked directional here rather than read as enthusiasm.

The Dandy Road Trip collection paired drinkware — a cold cup, bottles, a lidded cup — with a hat and sweatshirt from streetwear label Dandy Worldwide, with a Seattle pop-up the day before the July 28 national launch. It drew 141 launch authors and 263 across its entire run, and 29% day-two retention, the steepest fall in the set. Much of the conversation is the collaborating brand's own creators and pop-up attendees rather than a broad audience. As with the Pink Bearista, its +98.3 net sentiment rests on a single negative post.

Peanuts drew 2,245 distinct authors in 48 hours — 67% of the Bearista's launch, and more than twelve times the Pink Bearista's. It carries +76.2 net sentiment on a base solid enough to mean something (1,684 positive against 228 negative), and the Bearista's machinery reappeared immediately: a resale market inside a day, with the Snoopy cold cup reported at up to five times retail, and r/starbucks already arguing about flippers and queue-cutting. The open question is endurance. Day two held 50% of day one — well short of the Bearista's 131% — and day three is down to 361 posts. TikTok is 39 posts of its conversation against the Bearista's 1,091.

Posts by channel across each drop’s era. TikTok is the clearest separation in the set — and the cheapest early signal to watch on Peanuts.
The Pink Bearista tested that thesis directly and returned 5.4% of the original's launch audience. The bear did not carry. What carried in November 2025 was scarcity, a resale market and a news cycle — conditions, not a mascot. Peanuts reproduced those conditions on licensed IP within a day of launching.
Test Does any future own-IP Bearista variant clear 1,000 launch authors, or is 3,362 a one-off?
At 2,245 launch authors and +76.2 sentiment, Peanuts is the strongest thing Starbucks has launched since the Bearista. Its day-two retention of 50% sits between Dandy's 29% and the Bearista's 131%, which is genuinely ambiguous. The Bearista's own day five rose back to 1,353 posts on restock news, and Peanuts has a live resale market that could do the same.
Test Does Peanuts show a restock rebound between day 4 and day 7, or continue straight down?
The Pink Bearista and Dandy collections drew 864 and 263 authors across their entire runs. Whatever they cost to produce and launch, they did not buy conversation at a scale that shows up against the brand's own baseline. That may still be the right call for a seasonal SKU, but it should not be justified on reach.
Test What was the target for these two, and was it reach at all?
TikTok carried 1,091 posts for the Bearista and 39 for Peanuts, against a collection that is otherwise well liked and already reselling. It is the clearest gap between the two mass-market drops in this set and the cheapest one to close while the collection is still in stores.
Test Does a TikTok push move Peanuts off its current day-7 slope?
Earlier versions of this brief benchmarked against Red Cup Day 2024 and 2025. Those are free giveaways, not collectible collections, and mixing the two categories made the comparison harder to read. These are the four most recent paid collectible drinkware collections. The Bearista is the oldest of them and the direct predecessor of the Pink Bearista, which is what makes the pair worth putting side by side.
Daily volumes in this set run from 1 post to 2,753. On a linear axis the Pink Bearista and Dandy collections sit flat against the baseline and their shapes cannot be read at all. The log axis keeps the Bearista's dominance visible while making the smaller two legible; each gridline is a tenfold step, so the gaps are larger than they look.
The Pink Bearista's +95.5 rests on nine negative posts and Dandy's +98.3 on one. Near-ceiling sentiment on a base that thin means an absence of criticism, not the presence of enthusiasm. The same caution applies to the Pink Bearista's 396% day-two retention, which is an artifact of a 49-post launch day. Negative volume tracks reach, which is why the Bearista — the only drop here that reached a mass audience — is also the only one with a meaningful negative count.
Re-tested on this run. Quid's aggregate engagement metric returns exactly zero for X while X remains 65.4% of the corpus. An engagement total, share or per-post average would be wrong rather than incomplete, so it stays out of the model entirely.
